Azteca Showdown: Pick Your USA Team
Select your starting lineup for the U.S. team when it plays Mexico on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, the United States national team will fly down to Mexico City to play El Tri in World Cup qualifying. Head coach Bob Bradley will bring 20 players with him, which will be cut down to 18 on gameday.
If you were in charge, who would make the starting XI? With Steve Cherundolo fit again, who gets the nod at rightback? Which striking pair would you go for? Do you select the industry and grit of Ricardo Clark in the middle or the flair and vision of Benny Feilhaber?
Post your preferred 11 in the comments section below, from left to right with commas separating the players.
The full roster for the match is listed below:
GOALKEEPERS (2): Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton FC)
DEFENDERS (7): Carlos Bocanegra (Rennes), Jonathan Bornstein (Chivas USA), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover), Jay DeMerit (Watford), Chad Marshall (Columbus Crew), Oguchi Onyewu (AC Milan), Jonathan Spector (West Ham)
MIDFIELDERS (6): Michael Bradley (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Ricardo Clark (Houston Dynamo), Clint Dempsey (Fulham FC:), Benny Feilhaber (AGF Aarhus), Stuart Holden (Houston Dynamo), José Francisco Torres (Pachuca)
FORWARDS (5): Jozy Altidore (Villarreal), Conor Casey (Colorado Rapids), Brian Ching (Houston Dynamo), Charlie Davies (FC Sochaux), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy)
