Altidore's Agent Confirms Olympiakos Interest - And More
Jozy Altidore's agent, Lyle Yorks, has indicated that the Greek club is definitely interested in the American striker.
As Goal.com's Greek edition revealed, USA forward Jozy Altidore could be headed to that country to play for a year-long loan.
Lyle Yorks, Altidore's agent confirmed the negotiations to Goal.com USA via email.
"There is interest," Yorks wrote. "We have had discussions with Olympiakos to take Jozy for a year's loan."
But, just like negotiations with the Dutch club Ajax were ongoing before AC Milan sealed the deal with Yorks for Oguchi Onyewu, nothing has yet been finalized.
Olympiakos is not the only option for the young striker, who may have drawn extra attention after the goal he scored against Spain in the Confederations Cup.
"There is also interest in Spain (La Liga), Germany and the EPL," Yorks verified.
The uncertainty over Alditore's destination shouldn't last much longer, however.
"We should finalize something in the coming week or two," Yorks concluded.
