Gold Cup: U.S. Stars Tweet Grenada Win
Read the Twitter updates of U.S. Nats after the 4-0 Grenada win.
The United States national team is up with the times.
After the 4-0 Gold Cup win over Grenada, several of the top performers tweeted the experience. Tweeting is the verb used for Twitter, an online service that allows one to post snippet messages of 140 characters or less. It's like facebook boiled down to just the status updates.
Soccer stars can get bored sitting in airports or in hotel rooms, and so tweeting enables them to keep in contact with friends and family, as well as update fans about their lives.
After the USA's opening game in the Gold Cup, the tweets were predictably upbeat. Here are some of them:
Stuart Holden (@stuholden22):
-Great start to the tourny for the team and couldn't be happier to score in my first game! USA USA happy 4th
-Landed safely in DC and headed to the hotel. Legs are a little stiff after the turf and travel, but these skins pants help with recovery!
Freddy Adu (@FreddyAdu11):
-Happy 4th of July to everyone. I love this country with all my heart with everything they have done for me and my family.
-rustyy.Thanks for all the messages.Game sharpness is not there.felt slow due to heavy legs.legs wouldnt do what i wanted.Good win.important
Charlie Davies (@charlieDavies10):
