U.S. international defender Jay DeMerit answers questions from Goal.com readers on a wide range of topics.

U.S. international defender Jay DeMerit sat down with Goal.com's Greg Lalas for a video interview, answering questions supplied by Goal.com readers.

The Watford defender is currently on Confederations Cup duty with the United States national team in South Africa, where he has started all three group stage games with captain Carlos Bocanegra out injured. After losing the first two matches, the U.S. miraculously overcame Egypt 3-0 to advance to the semifinal round.

DeMerit fielded questions including match preparation, developing outside of the U.S. system, playing club ball overseas, and a possible transfer to a big club.
