U.S. U-20s Cruise To Victory In Opener

The U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team opened the CONCACAF U-20 World Cup qualifying with a 3-0 victory over Jamaica.

The United States Under-20 Men’s National Team got off to a bright start in its campaign to qualify for the Under-20 World Cup with a 3-0 thrashing of Jamaica on Friday night.

The U.S. opened the scoring in just the eighth minute when Dilly Duka and Danny Cruz set the table for Peri Marosevic. Duka did well to beat two defenders and slip a cross to Cruz, who headed the ball down for Marosevic. Marosevic made no mistake with the side volley and the U.S. had an early lead.

The 1-0 score line would hold until the 78^th when Cruz, Duka, and Marosevic combined for a second. This time it was Duka on the finish of a ball in from Cruz that Marosevic let run through.

Billy Schuler capped off the night for the U.S. in the 83^rd when Gale Agbossoumonde’s flick found him at the back post for an easy finish.

All in all, it was a good victory for the U.S. who held Jamaica to just one shot on goal the entire match.

The U.S. U-20’s will be back in action Sunday when they take on Honduras at 6:00 p.m. EST before rounding out group play Tuesday with evening against El Salvador.
