VIDEO: Thorrington On Fitness Versus Youth
John Thorrington hasn't always been fit due to injury problems, but when he has been healthy, his stamina has been top-notch, Even as the eldest field player in the U.S. national team camp, Thorrington has been one of the fitness leaders.
The January camp for the U.S. national team is considered one of the toughest training sessions for fitness. One might think that an older player would have a certain disadvantage, but John Thorrington proves that this is not a valid assumption.
The Chicago Fire midfielder, finally healthy and coming off perhaps the best season in his professional career, has done better than keep up with the youngsters in Bob Bradley's camp.
The 29-year-old, who has three U.S. international caps to his credit, spoke exclusively with Goal.com about being both a veteran and a newcomer and not slowing down with age.
