Knocked Out
The United States U-17 team was kicked out of the U-17 World Cup in Nigeria today when Italy beat them 2-1. Two second half goals were enough to see off the USMNT, who won't qualify for the quarterfinal round because of the loss. Eriq Zavaleta saw a red card in the match.

Switching Sides
After his much-publicized decision to switch from the Mexican National Team to the U.S. Men's National Team, the wait began for when Edgar Castillo would get the call from Bob Bradley. It has apparently come and he will be in the team that faces Slovakia and Denmark this month.

USA U-17 Team Advances
Defeating the United Arab Emirates by the slimmest of margins, the USA squad moved on to the knockout rounds of the under-17 World Cup. A goal by forward Jack McInerney made all the difference for the Americans, who dropped their opening match to Spain, but defeated Malawi.

U-17s Fight Back
The U.S. U-17s fought back from their opening game defeat to Spain to claim a 1-0 win over Malawi. The single goal win leaves the U.S. in prime position to advance to the next round with a win in their final group match on Sunday against the UAE.

U.S. Drops Group Opener
The U.S. U-17 National Team couldn't take advantage of playing a man up for almost an entire game and fell to Spain 2-1 in their U-17 World Cup group opener. With two games remaining the U.S. will need a strong response to avoid the same fate as the U-20 squad.

Toil And Trouble
With recent incidents, USA players face challenges, whether recovering from injury or dealing with racial insults. Charlie Davies and Oguchi Onyewu have surgery challenges to overcome, while police have gotten involved in Maurice Edu's situation.

Landon Donovan Award
It's been half-seriously suggested that the USA's Honda Player of the Year Award should just be named after the player who has now claimed the trophy six times and won the decade award. In his acceptance speech, Donovan said his thoughts were with injured striker Charlie Davies.
