Canada to face Bulgaria in May friendly

The Canadians will meet Bulgaria in a closed-door match in Ritzing, Austria.
Canada's men's national team will face Bulgaria in a closed-door international friendly in Austria on May 23.

The Canadian Soccer Association announced the match, which will be the first full international friendly of the year for the team, on Tuesday. Head coach Benito Floro also held a training camp in Florida in January, with the young Canadians defeating club side Fort Lauderdale Strikers.

Floro will convene his players on May 18, with the match coming in the middle of a 10-day camp. The game versus the Bulgarians will represent the first ever meeting between the two sides at the full international level.

Canada has two other matches scheduled for 2014 so far, with a home friendly scheduled against Jamaica on Sept. 9 and a visit to Panama planned for November.
