In Monday night’s draw in Miami, each team learned the identity of their adversaries for the first round of the CONCACAF Champions League
The San Jose Earthquakes and Montreal Impact are the only two MLS teams grouped together in the 2013-14 CONCACAF Champions League group stage, after the draw was held on Monday night.
In order to qualify for the knockout stages, only a first place finish in the round-robin phase will do. As per the competition's rules, no MLS and Liga MX teams were drawn in the same group.
Three-time defending champion Monterrey did not qualify for the 2013-14 edition of the tournament, and will be unable to defend its crown.
The winner of each three-team group will advance to the knockout round, which begins in 2014.
