Eredivisie outfit Twente have completed the transfer of highly-rated attacker Bryan Ruiz from Belgian side Gent for a fee of €5 million, a statement on the club's official website indicates.
The Enschede outfit were desperate to land a new winger after the departure of Dutch international Eljero Elia to Bundesliga side Hamburg earlier this month.
Ruiz had also attracted the interest of Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg, but the Costa Rican international preferred to move to the Netherlands. The forward has signed a four-year deal at the Tukkers.
Gent signed the 23-year-old from Deportivo Alajuelense in the summer of 2006 and Ruiz immediately developed in to an important first team member at the Belgians.
He has made 79 league appearances for Gent over three seasons, scoring 26 goals.
