Boyd stays in form with goal for Rapid Vienna

The USA forward netted for the sixth time in all competitions with his first-half header in a win over Ried.
Terrence Boyd was left out of Jurgen Klinsmann's last World Cup qualifying roster, but the USA international forward is making a strong push to be included in next month's final games of the CONCACAF Hexagonal with his recent play.

Boyd headed home a corner kick from Louis Schaub in the 17th minute of Rapid Vienna's 2-0 victory over Ried Sunday to maintain his scoring form.

The goal was Boyd's third in the last four games and his sixth in all competitions this season. He trails Guido Burgstaller, who scored the opening goal for Rapid Vienna, by one goal for the team lead.

The victory shot Rapid Vienna ahead of Ried and rival Austria Vienna and into third place in the Austrian Bundesliga. All three clubs are on 15 points but Boyd's side has the strongest goal differential.
