Aron Johannsson's hot start to the season continued on Saturday, as the striker scored in the fourth minute of AZ's 2-1 win over RKC Waalwijk. The goal was his fourth in four games in all competitions.
After the ball deflected to Johannsson in the box, the striker clipped the ball over RKC goalkeeper Jan Seda to open the scoring. The home side found an equalizer in the 83rd minute through Jean-David Beauguel, but AZ struck back one minute later, as Maarten Martens grabbed the winner.
AZ now has two wins and one loss three games into the Eredivisie season, with Johannsson scoring in all three games. His first two league goals came from the penalty spot.
The 22-year-old forward earned his first U.S. national team cap on Wednesday in the team's 4-3 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina.
