Terrence Boyd opens season account with brace in Rapid Vienna win

The 22-year-old striker scores his first two goals of the young season, helping his team to an easy win on Saturday
U.S. international striker Terrence Boyd picked up right where he left off in the 2012-13 season, scoring twice as Rapid Vienna easily defeated 10-man Wiener Neustadt 4-0 on Saturday.

The visitors' task was made very difficult when Dennis Mimm picked up a straight red card in the 18th minute. Rapid took advantage, as a first-half brace from Guido Burgstaller put the home side up 2-0 at halftime.

Boyd put the game beyond reach in the second half, scoring in the 53rd and 79th minute to seal a comfortable win, his side's first on the young season. Rapid began Austrian Bundesliga play last week with a 2-2 draw against RZ Pellets WAC.

The 22-year-old had a strong debut season with Rapid last year, as he scored 13 goals in league play. He has been capped nine times by the U.S. national team.
