thumbnail Hello,

The American forward helped put his club's match against VVV Venlo Friday out of reach with his 15th league tally this season.

Jozy Altidore stayed hot for AZ Alkmaar, as the U.S. national team forward followed up his hat trick with a goal in AZ's 4-1 victory over VVV Venlo on Friday.

Altidore ran onto a ball over the top, holding his run to stay onside while being guarded by two defenders. He outpaced both Venlo players, dribbled toward goal and put a low, right-footed shot past the on-rushing goalkeeper to give AZ a 3-1 lead in the 62nd minute.

The goal was Altidore's seventh in the last five games, as he followed up his hat trick against Vitesse with his 15th league goal and 19th in all competitions. He trails Vitesse's Wilfried Bony by one in the race for the Eredivisie golden boot, and his 15 non-penalty goals are the most in the league.
