Arguably the greatest American to ever play in Europe, Clint Dempsey is still searching for a new home as the Premier League season rapidly approaches.Clint Dempsey: With the start of the Premier League campaign just around the corner, Dempsey is still a man on shaky ground. Deuce did not travel with Fulham to Switzerland for its pre-season tour, adding to speculation that he will be moved to Liverpool or another top flight club. The 29-year-old has rejected Fulham’s new contract offer which includes three years with an option for a fourth.
Carlos Bocanegra: Despite interest from the New England Revolution and Vancouver Whitecaps, Bocanegra appears ready to stick it out in Europe for a few more years. The defender has garnered interest from clubs in Germany and France. In addition, although Bocanegra hasn’t officially ruled out playing for Rangers in the Scottish third division, he’ll likely receive a more lucrative offer from a better club within the next few weeks.
Geoff Cameron: The Stoke defender had a court date on Sunday in order to secure a United Kingdom work permit. The newly signed 27-year-old was nearly snatched up by Everton at the last minute but Stoke prevailed in grabbing the Houston Dynamo standout.
Maurice Edu: The midfielder has apparently told Rangers manager Ally McCoist that he intends to leave Rangers before the end of the month. Edu has recently been linked to clubs in Turkey.
Alejandro Bedoya: The Rangers striker has been linked with Swedish side Helsingborg IF as of late. The 25-year-old would be the only American on the team, which won the 2011 Allsvenskan League, however this could be a good opportunity to gain additional playing time and would be a chance to play in the UEFA Champions League.
