The U.S. international midfielder opened his Serie A account in a 3-2 win over Catania.
Michael Bradley has put together a very solid season with Chievo Verona in Italy's Serie A, becoming a fixture in the starting lineup for the Flying Donkeys. The only thing missing for Bradley was a goal. That all changed Saturday, as the American midfielder scored his first Serie A goal in Chievo's 3-2 win over Catania.
In the sixth minute of the match, Alberto Paloschi found Bradley with a cross in the center of the box and the U.S. international made no mistake, sidefooting a first-time effort off the post and in.
The goal means Bradley is first American international to score in Serie A since Alexi Lalas with Padova in 1994-95.
With the win, Chievo moved up to ninth in the Serie A standings. Sitting 11 points clear of the drop zone with seven games remaining, the Flying Donkeys are all but assured of their top-flight status for the 2012-13 season.
