Ex-Chivas USA star Jonathan Bornstein will be with his new club at the start of their Clausura 2011 preseason.
According to Mexican daily Record, Bornstein will join his new club on the weekend. Tigres' preseason is set to start on Nov. 29 and all players must report.
Tigres manager Ricardo "Tuca" Ferretti gave the club two weeks off following the completion of the Apertura 2010 season. Tigres failed to reach the Liguilla.
Bornstein was drafted by Chivas USA in 2006 and had spent his entire career with the MLS club. Tigres snatched him up in the middle of the 2010 MLS season, the club's worst since Bornstein joined the club.
Tigres and Chivas USA have sent players back and forth to each other. Claudio Suarez joined Chivas USA in 2006 after a spell with Tigres, and more recently Paulo Nagamura spent the Clausura 2010 season on loan to the Monterrey outfit.
Bornstein will join Tigres on their preseason, which will include a two-week stint in the Mayan Riviera.
