USA midfielder Clint Dempsey is set to return to Fulham's bench on Thursday night when the Cottagers take on Juventus in a Europa League round of 16 clash according to ESPN.com.

Dempsey has been out of action since picking up a knee injury in mid January, but had previously stated that he expected to be back sometime in mid-March. While it is unclear if Dempsey will see any action in his first match back with the club his return to the bench for such a major clash is undoubtedly a sign that he is nearing full fitness.

Fulham and USA fans will be happy to see Dempsey return to the pitch as both teams have been hit with a rash of injuries over the last few months.
