Report: Schalke's Jermaine Jones On Stuttgart Radar

Stuttgart have apparently made Jones their primary target on the transfer market.

According to a report in German newspaper Bild, Bundesliga side Stuttgart are considering making a move for highly rated Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones.

Stuttgart are in the market for a new midfielder due to the injury of Martin Lanig. He sustained a knee injury earlier this summer and will unavailable for a while.

The Schwaben were already being linked with Olympique Lyon's Sidney Govou and free agent Dietmar Hamann, but they have now apparently set their sights on Jones.

The 27-year-old's current Schalke deal is due to expire in the summer of 2014, but the Gelsenkirchen side are short on cash and could be tempted to let Jones go if a good offer comes in.

Stuttgart are also eager to add Feyenoord playmaker Jonathan de Guzman to their squad, but the promising midfielder is not too keen on a Bundesliga move and prefers to move to Spain or England instead.
