Dempsey's contract expires at the end of next season, but he has rejected Fulham's latest offer of an extension, fueling speculation that he could be on his way out. According to The Sun, Everton are poised to pounce.
The Toffees are ready to offer around £4million for him, a figure that Fulham will have to seriously consider, as they risk losing him for nothing when his contract expires next season.
In addition, Everton will offer him wages of £37,000 a week, £12,000 more than he currently earns.
Dempsey has come into the spotlight in recent times for his exploits at the Confederations Cup, where he scored three goals, including one during the semi-final and final. He was awarded the Bronze Ball, given to the third best player in the tournament.
