Reports: Fulham Move In On Oguchi Onyewu
The Cottagers seem set to hijack Birmingham City's attempt to sign the USA international.
Oguchi Onyewu may well be on the move to the Craven Cottage this summer after Fulham emerged as possible suitors for the American defender.
The player’s agent has denied that an agreement has been struck with Birmingham City, and reports from Sky Sports suggest the defender may now be set for a move to Fulham.
Premier League new boys Birmingham were keen to add the 27-year-old to their squad, but the London club are now favourites.
The Cottagers superb improvement under Roy Hodgson last season means they can offer Onyewu European football. Hodgson is keen to increase his squad size before Fulham begin their Europa League campaign.
The USA international has previous experience in England, where he enjoyed a brief loan spell with Newcastle United, and is available on a free transfer as his contract with Belgian side Standard Liege has expired.
