In its first action since being eliminated from World Cup qualification, the Canadian men's national team will face Denmark in an exhibition match in Arizona.
The game will take place on Jan. 27 at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium in Tucson, and will be the first meeting between the two sides since 1995. The Danes are currently second from the bottom in Group B of UEFA's World Cup qualifying tournament, and the match will serve as part of Denmark's preparation for when that competition resumes next March.
With Brazil 2014 no longer in the picture, Canada is looking ahead to the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, and the friendly against Denmark will be the first step towards that tournament. The Canadian Soccer Association has yet to name a head coach to replace the departed Stephen Hart, and there has been no timeline set for such an announcement.
