The Partenopei are busy on the transfer market as they attempt to assemble a squad capable of challenging the Serie A elite next season.

The club’s star player this past campaign, Marek Hamsik, has recommended that Napoli buy FC Porto left back Marek Cech.

The 25-year-old Cech plays with Hamsik for the Slovakian national team, and has won 27 caps for his country since debuting in 2004.

He joined Porto from Sparta Prague in 2005, however this season he has seen the Uruguayan Jorge Fucile explode onto the scene in his position, and Cech is now eager to find a new club.

The Corriere says that that negotiations have already begun to bring Cech, whose contract in Porto runs out next summer, to the Stadio San Paolo.

Napoli have been linked with a host of other players in recent weeks, including South American starlets Marcelo Moreno, Bruno Fornaroli and Fernando Cavenaghi.
