Marco Fabian not ‘obsessed’ with move to Europe

The Mexican forward says he's happy in Liga MX and won't be crushed if a move to Europe doesn't come to pass.

The speculation regarding Marco Fabian’s future doesn’t seem to end, although the forward has admitted if he won’t be letting up if his dream move to Europe doesn’t come off this summer.

“I’m not obsessed with leaving,” said Fabian in quotes published in Record. “I’m happy at Cruz Azul and I’ll give my soul to make history here.”

The player belongs to Chivas, but is on loan to La Maquina, who has an option to buy him at the end of the season.

Added to the complicated mix are the confirmed reports of interest from Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart, which has bid for the player, only to have the offers knocked back by Chivas, with Cruz Azul saying it has received nothing official.

Cruz Azul has started the Apertura season poorly without a win in its first three matches, but Fabian says the side is focused on improving in coming weeks and is 100 percent committed to the club.

“I’m not distracted with going to European football, I am totally concentrated on the team and on playing a good tournament,” he said. “There’s a long way to go in the league and we’ll improve and fight for the title.”
