The El Tri forward has a pair of offers from abroad but could also stay in Liga MX for some time.Club America striker Raul Jimenez has two offers from Europe on the table.
The offers – widely reported in the Mexican press as Porto and Wolfsburg – are being analyzed by Las Aguilas, the player and his family, America’s operating director Jose Romano told a press conference in Mexico City on Wednesday.
Romano went on to explain the club would like 23-year-old Jimenez to stay at America for another six months before moving to Europe, but the teams want the player now. He added the situation would be settled next week.
If Jimenez was to leave, America sporting president Ricardo Pelaez said the club could buy a fifth foreign player to replace the Mexico international.
“If the offer is good and he goes, we already have a plan B and plan C,” said Pelaez in the same press conference.
Another Mexico international at America who is not likely to be moving on is Miguel Layun.
“There is only one offer, which is a long way from what we want in America. (It’s) a loan offer and he’s not going on loan,” said Romano.
