thumbnail Hello,

The Manchester United striker left the game after 45 minutes with discomfort in his knee after a collision.

Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez came off at halftime in Mexico’s 0-0 draw with Nigeria on Wednesday with a suspected knee injury.

The Mexico team doctor said that the injury could be sprained ligaments in the striker’s right knee, according to various reports in Mexico, but stressed that more tests would be needed to confirm the extent of the problem and how long the 25-year-old will be out.

“I don’t feel well, the goalkeeper fell on top of me, I’ll wait for the tests,” was the only statement Hernandez made to reporters in Atlanta, Georgia after the game.

The player was quiet in the first 45 minutes for El Tri alongside Oribe Peralta, not really getting any clear-cut chances.

The game was coach Miguel Herrera’s last chance to see Mexico’s Europe-based players before he announces El Tri’s squad for the World Cup in Brazil this June.
