thumbnail Hello,

The 19-year-old Mexican midfielder will spend the remainder of the 2013-14 campaign playing for the Villarreal B squad.

One of Mexican soccer's brightest prospects is making the jump to Europe.

Villarreal on Friday acquired 19-year-old midfielder Jonathan Espericueta from Tigres and announced he will spend the remainder of the 2013-14 campaign playing for the club's B squad.

Espericueta claimed the Silver Ball while helping Mexico win the 2011 U-17 World Cup and also participated in the 2013 U-20 World Cup. He has only played sparingly for Tigres, though, since debuting in September 2012.

The playmaker joins fellow Mexicans Giovani dos Santos and Javier Aquino at the Spanish side.
