thumbnail Hello,

The Apertura semifinals are set, and defending champion America still has a chance to make it two straight titles.

Club America will play Toluca and Santos Laguna faces Leon in the Liga MX semifinals.

Las Aguilas – the Clausura 2013 champions – struggled against a Tigres team that came close to winning Sunday’s game late on, despite going down to 10 men, but America got the 1-1 draw that was required to go through on away goals.

Toluca eased past Cruz Azul 4-1 on aggregate, with the league’s highest scorer Pablo Velazquez once again netting in Saturday’s 1-1 draw in the Estadio Azul.

Santos Laguna’s Oribe Peralta continued his fine form by scoring the first in a 3-1 win over Queretaro on Sunday, while Colombian Darwin Quintero is clicking into form and added the second and third goal.

Finally, Leon cruised past Morelia 4-0 on Saturday after the first leg finished 3-3.

Leon is likely to host Santos Laguna on Wednesday or Thursday evening, with the return leg on Saturday or Sunday in Torreon, with Toluca welcoming America on Thursday evening and the deciding match taking place in the Estadio Azteca on Sunday.

The days and times will be confirmed by the Liga MX on Monday.
