Vucetich relaxed ahead of crucial Panama duel

The new Mexico coach revealed he is almost settled on his starting lineup during Tuesday's laid-back press conference.

Mexico coach Victor Manuel Vucetich was in fine form in front of the country's media Tuesday, ahead of Friday's crucial World Cup qualifying clash against Panama.

"Only Judas was fearful," joked Vucetich in a press conference in Mexico City, on being asked if he was nervous going into the game.

"Personally, I'm very happy, wanting the game to come quickly," added the former Monterrey coach known as "King Midas." "There is no fear."

Vucetich also told reporters he is 80 or 90 percent sure of his starting lineup, after 10 days of preparation with the Mexico-based players ahead of the game.

"It's not the appropriate amount of time, but we've forwarded the idea a lot with the arrival of the Europe-based players," Vucetich said. "They are all ready to face Panama."

Mexico heads into Friday's game in the fifth position in CONCACAF's Hexagonal table, level on points with fourth-place Panama and three points off third-place Honduras.

The top three qualifiers automatically go to Brazil 2014, with the fourth-place side to face New Zealand in a home-and-away playoff in November.
