Mexico trimmed its roster down to 23 names ahead of the 2013 Gold Cup, which begins in July.
The usual first team is in Brazil ahead of the Confederations Cup. El Tri will take a weakened roster into the United States-based Gold Cup.
Mexico, the reigning Gold Cup champion, kicks off the 2013 edition against Panama in the Rose Bowl on July 7.
