The Mexico international goalkeeper might be headed to Serie A, with Napoli mooted as a potential destination
Ajaccio and Mexico national team goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa’s future has been the subject of much speculation, with Napoli the latest club to be linked with the 27-year-old.
Italian outlets Calciomercato, Tuttomercato and Football Italia have all mentioned that the Azzurri could be interested in the former Club America player due to the fact current No. 1 Morgan De Sanctis is nearing retirement.
Ochoa has enjoyed a second excellent season with Ajaccio in Ligue 1, but has stated his eventual aim is to move on, ideally to a team that can offer Champions League or Europa League soccer.
Napoli fits into that category after finishing Serie A in second position last season – ahead of AC Milan – and winning automatic entry into the Champions League group stage.
Ochoa has previously been linked with Liverpool and various clubs in La Liga, but the reported price of 10 million euros could be a possible sticking point at a time when many European countries and clubs are suffering financially
