The El Tri goalkeeper is reportedly ready for a big-money transfer after impressing with the Ligue 1 outfitMexico international goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has not been shy in stating that one of his professional goals is to play in European competitions and an exit from Ligue 1 side Ajaccio seems to be edging closer.
The president of the Corsica-based club, Alain Orsoni, accepted that it will be difficult for the minnows to keep the impressive Ochoa this summer, in an interview Thursday with Mexican website MedioTiempo.
Ochoa’s agent Jorge Berlanga was also quoted Thursday on Fut24Siete.com saying that the former America ‘keeper already has offers in Europe, but that nothing is yet concrete regarding his future.
“Memo has a clear dream, which is to play European tournaments,” Berlanga told Fut24Siete. “Spain is an attractive option, but the economic situation is worrisome.”
Berlanga added that as time goes by, the more interest Ochoa is generating, especially with his recent good form for Ajaccio.
But as likely as a summer move seems for Ochoa, the agent stated that it will only happen if a club offers the 27-year-old the right project and regular playing time.
“He’ll only leave if he is going to play, we don’t want him to go to a Champions League team and him to be waiting two or three years for an opportunity,” concluded Berlanga.
Ochoa has already revealed that his agent has talked to Premier League side Liverpool and clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Sevilla have also been mentioned as potential suitors in the Mexican press.
