Club Tijuana 4-0 San Jose: Two Americans score in heavy Xolos win

Edgar Castillo and Joe Corona scored in Club Tijuana's 4-0 win over Bolivia's San Jose in the Copa Libertadores on Tuesday.
The Xolos beat Millonarios 1-0 in their first-ever Copa Lib game last week, with American international Edgar Castillo providing the assist. The left back went one better against San Jose, scoring the opener.

Alfredo Moreno played a one-two with his back heel to set Castillo free in the box. A low near-post shot beat goalkeeper Carlos Porras to open the scoring in the fourth minute.

Two minutes after halftime, Club Tijuana doubled the lead when Pablo Aguilar swept home a Fernando Arce free kick.

Just two minutes later, American midfielder Joe Corona scored, guiding Fidel Martinez's cross inside the far post with an outstretched leg. Martinez himself finished off the scoring.

"It was a great outing by our guys," coach Antonio 'El Turco' Mohamed said. "I think we could have scored more."

Duvier Riascos should have added a fifth with a powerful header from a corner, but Martinez touched it on the line from an offside position.

Corona made way after the hour mark. Castillo finished the match.

The Xolos are back in Copa Lib action on March 6 against Corinthians. On Saturday they face Atlas in Liga MX.
