The veteran El Tri goalkeeper was named to L'Equipe's Team of the Week for the fourth time this season.
Mexico and Ajaccio goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa was named to the Ligue 1 Team of the Week by French newspaper L’Equipe, marking the second consecutive week the former Club America shot stopper has earned that honor.
The Mexican international made six saves in Ajaccio’s 1-0 win over Bordeaux over the weekend, earning the Team of the Week honor for the fourth time this season.
The honors for Ochoa have been coming fast and furious in recent weeks, as the 27-year-old has won the prize in weeks 18, 20, 23 and now 24 of the Ligue 1 campaign.
Ochoa skipped Mexico’s recent qualifier to make sure to be present for the birth of his first child, which occurred last Friday in France. In recent months, he has lost the Mexican starting goalkeeper position to Jesus Corona, who played a huge role in El Tri’s scoreless draw last week with Jamaica at Estadio Azteca.
