El Tri coach Jose Manuel de la Torre finalized his call-ups for next Wednesday’s World Cup qualifier with Jamaica after the drab 1-1 stalemate with Denmark in a friendly played in Arizona.
The roster was little changed from the group that tied the Danes Wednesday night, with the exception of the addition of Mexico’s four Europe-based stars.
Javier Hernandez (Manchester United), Andres Guardado (Valencia), Giovani Dos Santos (Mallorca), and Hector Moreno (RCD Espanyol) were all added to the list, which includes nine of last year’s Olympic gold medal winners.
Club Tijuana duo Cirilo Saucedo and Fernando Arce remained in the team, as well as four players from Club America and three from Liga MX co-leaders Tigres UANL.
Mexico's match with Jamaica will open the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying hexagonal for both squads. Mexico's following two matches are at Honduras and against the United States on March 22 and 26, respectively; Jamaica will host Panama and play at Costa Rica on those same dates.
