Torres Nilo questionable for Mexico's upcoming matches with thigh injury

El Tri's regular left back could be in jeopardy of missing a friendly against Denmark and the team's Hexagonal opener.
Jorge Torres Nilo missed this weekend’s Round 2 of the Liga MX Clausura with a muscle injury that could threaten his availability for upcoming national team matches.

El Tri’s regular left back sat out Tigres’ 3-1 win at Atlante on Sunday night, unable to play due to a thigh injury.

“Jorge Torres Nilo has a muscle injury in the thigh of his left leg, for which reason he won’t play today,” the club announced via Twitter.

There was no immediate word on the severity of the injury, but Torres Nilo’s participation in El Tri’s preparations for an upcoming friendly with Denmark in late January, and possibly the Hexagonal opener against Jamaica in early February, could be in doubt if the defender fails to recover promptly.

With the away win, Tigres nevertheless climbed to the top of the table after two dates of the Mexican Clausura.
