Monterrey brings in Omar Arellano

The Rayados, who are competing in the Club World Cup, acquire the attacker and are set to send Sergio Perez to Chivas.
Set to compete at the Club World Cup starting on Sunday, Monterrey representatives were nevertheless at the bargaining table on Wednesday back in Mexico, agreeing to bring in long-time Chivas attacker Omar Arellano.

The Rayados also will send defender Sergio “Cherokee” Perez to Chivas. Perez played for Rayados for three seasons following a transfer from now defunct Indios de Ciudad Juarez.

Perez will join Chivas upon the team’s return to Mexico, and is still eligible to play in the Club World Cup with Monterrey.

After a youth career and debut at Pachuca, Arellano has spent six years and 12 tournaments with Chivas, where he developed into an intermittent inclusion in the Mexican national team.
