Mexico calls up eight gold medalists for roster to face Costa Rica in World Cup qualifying

Oribe Peralta, Marco Fabian and Javier Aquino spearhead a total of eight London 2012 medalists to face Costa Rica in both World Cup qualifying matches this September.
Jose Manuel de la Torre has named his full squad for the next two 2014 World Cup qualifying matches. Costa Rica will be the opponent for a home-and-away duo this September, as El Tri look to continue their perfect pace in the current round.

Eight Olympic gold medalists were called up to for both matches, with Oribe Peralta, Marco Fabian, Javier Aquino, Carlos Salcido, Israel Jimenez, Jose de Jesus Corona, Darvin Chavez and Hiram Mier being the players chosen from El Tri's 18-man team in the London Games.

Giovani dos Santos was once again held from consideration as he is nursing a muscle injury picked up in the semifinal match against Japan during the same Olympic tournament.

Guillermo Ochoa, Francisco Javier Rodriguez, Hector Moreno, Andres Guardado and Javier Hernandez comprise the foreign legion.
