The Mexican Federation has released a list of foreign-based players that will suit up for El Tri in their upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.
Giovani dos Santos will return to action for the Mexican national team following his gold medal run with El Tri in London 2012.
The Tottenham winger is among six foreign-based players who were named by Mexico's coaching staff en route to the two World Cup qualifying matches against Costa Rica in September.
Also named were Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, Valencia winger Andres Guardado, Stuttgart center back Francisco Rodriguez, Ajaccio goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa and Espanyol defender Hector Moreno.
Real Sociedad striker Carlos Vela as well as Barcelona midfielder Jonathan dos Santos remain absent from seeing action with the national team, following their refusal to play for the Under-23 squad that won the Olympic tournament in London.
The full list, which will be comprised of domestic as well as foreign-based players, is expected to be announced next week.
