thumbnail Hello,

The Olympic gold medalist has attracted attention from European sides following his sparkling summer campaign.

Following a two-goal performance that cemented Mexico's gold medal win over Brazil on Saturday, Oribe Peralta was quick to say that he'd welcome the challenge of playing in Europe.

While most of the questions centered on a possible move to the Premier League, it's La Liga side Deportivo La Coruña that is apparently locking in on the Santos Laguna striker.

Nuevofutbol and the Liga BBVA's official website reported this Tuesday that Andres Guardado's former team might be interested in signing Peralta, noting that the team is currently lacking in experienced strikers outside of Lassad and Riki.

On the challenge of playing in Europe, Peralta told reporters that he'd "relish and welcome it," knowing full well that at 28 years of age, his window for a jump outside of the Liga MX is rapidly closing.

Deportivo will enjoy its first season back in Spain's top division following relegation at the end of the 2010-11 season.
