thumbnail Hello,

New logos were revealed to the public to serve as the official images of the Liga MX, Ascenso MX and Copa MX that will kick off this weekend.

The official presentation for Mexico's new league, the Liga MX, was held in Mexico City this Monday amidst a crowd of players, managers, and media.

"Today, we present the soul of our league. The hymn, our faces and our logos," said Liga MX President Decio de Maria upon taking the stage.

In anticipation of the new tournament, which kicks off July 20, representatives of the team owners, players and fans spoke on behalf of the league, offering their points of view and building excitement.

"In the short term," Pachuca owner Jesus Martinez said, "we offer a better league. In the long term, we want a world-class league."

Martinez's club was the biggest spender in the most recent transfer market, purchasing former Spanish national teamer Raul Tamudo and Mexican star Nery Castillo among others.

For the players, Santos Laguna goalkeeper Oswaldo Sanchez assured those present that doping and cheating would not be an issue in the league, and that players would improve their relationship with media and fans.

"We will treat media with respect and a cordial attitude," said the former Chivas netminder.

Towards the end of the presentation, those in attendance caught a glimpse of the league's new logo, as well as listening to the official hymn for the first time.

The Liga MX's inagural season will kick off Friday, July 20 when Jaguares takes on Tigres in Chiapas and Club Tijuana hosts Puebla at the Estadio Caliente.
