Paraguay international Paulo da Silva signs with Pachuca

The former Sunderland and Zaragoza center back has signed on with the Mexican side, joining other high-profile players such as Nery Castillo and Raúl Tamudo.
Pachuca has continued its string of high-profile signings by announcing that Paraguay international Paulo da Silva will join the Tuzos in the Apertura 2012.

Da Silva previously played in Mexico with Toluca, where he arrived in 2003 and spent six years with the Diablos Rojos before signing for Sunderland in the English Premier League.

In 2011, Da Silva was transferred to Zaragoza in Spain, where he spent 18 months for the La Liga side that barely escaped relegation during the 2011-12 season.

In signing for Pachuca, Da Silva will join former Espanyol striker Raul Tamudo, former Mexican international Nery Castillo and Mexican legend Hugo Sanchez as the team's top signings this summer.

Other signings include wingers Alberto Medina and Nestor Calderon, left back Oscar Rojas and midfielder Jorge Daniel Hernandez.

Pachuca made the playoffs during the Clausura 2012 season with 26 points but was eliminated by Club America in the quarterfinals.
