Kidnap fears grow for former Jaguares and Monterrey goalkeeper Omar Ortiz
The Mexican shot-stopper, who is currently banned from soccer, has vanished and it is feared that he has been kidnapped.
The 35-year-old is reported to have gone missing from his home in Nuevo Leon on Wednesday, with some Mexican sources claiming that he may have been kidnapped by a group of armed men.
Ortiz's family waited 48 hours before reporting the case to local authorities, who are not releasing any information on this matter as a precaution.
The one-cap Mexican custodian made his first senior appearance in 1997 with Monterrey, where he returned in 2009.
He is currently banned from soccer for two years after testing positive for a controlled substance in April 2010 while at Monterrey.
