In preparation for World Cup qualifying, Mexico will play friendly matches against South American opposition in early 2012.

On Jan. 25, El Tri will face Venezuela, current co-leader in South America's World Cup qualifying group, at Houston's Reliant Stadium.

Venezuela finished fourth in the most recent Copa America, though boasts a poor 0-2-8 record against El Tri.

Then on Feb. 29, Miami's Sun Life Stadium will host the match between Colombia and Mexico.
