Chivas 1-0 Necaxa: Chivas Notch Second Victory At Omnilife
Marco Fabian scored midway through the second half as Chivas won by 1-0.

Marco Fabian scored the lone goal of the night in the Group one match-up.
First Half
At home, Chivas had the first opportunity of the game in the fourth minute. Marco Fabian shot with his right foot, but the ball went wide of Oscar ‘Conejo’ Perez’s goal.
Chivas again received an opportunity in the 15th minute. Omar Arellano sped down the right flank and sent in the ball toward the box, but no one was there to receive.
Arellano made space for himself in the 23rd minute and went through the Necaxa defense. He shot down the middle of the box and Perez made the save.
Again, Arellano made the play. In the 27th minute Arellano passed to Jorge Enriquez, received the ball and sent it to Marco Fabian. Fabian then gave it back to Arellano who tried to shoot as Luis Alberto Padilla made the tackled. Perez easily blocked Arellano’s shot.
Second Half
A new goalkeeper appeared in place of Perez for the second half. Necaxa sent out Ivan Vasquez, as Perez sustained an injury during first half play.
The first test for Vasquez arrived in the 53rd minute. Arellano sent a tough left-footed shot, but the goalkeeper blocked the shot and sent it wide.
Chivas took the lead in the 68th minute with a goal from Fabian. The Chivas player received on the left and weaved his way in and out of the Necaxa defense. His shot went toward the left post and put Chivas on top.
Fabian almost added a second in the 75th minute. Vasquez pushed the ball wide and saved Necaxa.
A minute later, Fabian again looked close to scoring for Chivas. The player received the ball with his chest and tried to shoot. Vasquez easily made the save; Adolfo ‘Bofo’ Bautista had been in front of goal with Fabian.
A defensive Necaxa had a difficult time making it toward the Chivas goal, but Daniel Cervantes had a go in the 78th minute. However, the weak shot was easily stopped by Luis Michel.
In the 88th minute the Chivas defense made a mistake that almost cost them the lead. They had trouble communicating and Hector Reynoso gave the ball to Pavlovich, before finally clearing.
Arellano missed the opportunity to seal Chivas’ win in the 90th minute. He received the ball in front of goal from Fabian. Arellano had a clear path for a goal, but he ended up sending the shot right into Vasquez’s hands.
