Cruz Azul's Orozco Among Mexico National Team Roster
Javier Orozco is the biggest revelation among the roster Mexico will use against Ecuador and Colombia next month.
While regulars such as Rafael Marquez, Gerardo Torrado and Carlos Salcido all made the list, so too did Javier Orozco of Cruz Azul and Toluca teammates Antonio Rios and Edgar Dueñas.
Orozco has enjoyed a fine season as he has scored four goals in five games, and is only behind Christian Benitez and Humberto Suazo on the goalscoring table. America forward Enrique Esqueda was also called up to the squad.
Mexico will play Ecuador on Sept. 4 and Colombia three days later, both games being played on Mexican soil.
Goalkeepers: Guillermo Ochoa (America), Jesus Corona (Cruz Azul).
Defenders: Carlos Salcido (PSV), Francisco Javier Rodriguez (PSV), Hector Moreno (AZ Alkmaar), Edgar Dueñas (Toluca), Jorge Torres Nilo (Tigres), Leobardo Lopez (Pachuca).
Midfielders: Andres Guardado (Deportivo La Coruña), Gerardo Torrado (Cruz Azul), Rafael Marquez (New York Red Bulls), Antonio Rios (Toluca), Pablo Barrera (West Ham), Efrain Juarez (Celtic).
Forwards: Carlos Vela (Arsenal), Elias Hernandez (Morelia), Enrique Esqueda (America), Javier Orozco (Cruz Azul), Javier Hernandez (Manchester United), Giovani Dos Santos (Tottenham).
