Pumas 4-1 Puebla: Cacho Buries Puebla With Late Brace
Juan Carlos Cacho scored two late goals to break open a tight game.
Pumas scored three goals in the final 20 minutes as Pumas broke open a close game with three unanswered goals in a 4-1 rout over Puebla on Sunday.
After the match, Puebla manager Jose Luis Sanchez Sola again threatened to quit. Sanchez Sola had threatened to quit multiple times last season and the season before but never followed through with his threats.
However, his club gave him reason to walk away with a frightful showing over the final stretch Sunday.
Juan Carlos Cacho scored in the 70th minute for the eventual match winner. Leandro Augusto raced down the left flank and crossed the ball over the goalkeeper and towards the back post where Cacho dived and knocked the ball into an empty net.
Cacho scored again minutes later when he took a through ball and raced down the middle of the box. Alejandro Acosta misplayed the ball and left Cacho alone to bury his attempt, which he did, from about 16 yards out.
Dante Lopez, who had opened the scoring in the 26th minute, finished off the rout with a half-volley from 15 yards out in the 89th minute.
Pumas improved to 3-2-0 while Puebla fell to 2-1-2.
