Club America have acuired former Toluca striker Vicente Sanchez and have filled a void left by the loss of Salvador Cabañas.
Sanchez instantly gives America one of the most dangerous forwards in the Mexican league. With Toluca. Sanchez scored 85 goals in 229 matches and won league titles in 2002 and 2005. His play opened doors to Germany as he was snatched up by Schalke during the winter transfer window in 2008 but the Uruguayan did fare very well in Germany, having scored just three goals there.
America lost Cabañas after the Paraguayan was shot in the head in Mexico City early last season.
