Mexicans Abroad: Landin Highlights Light Week

Luis Angel Landin helped Houston beat DC United as Mexicans Abroad were in short supply on the weekend.
The World Cup is beginning to dominate not only soccer fans' minds and attention throughout the globe but will now start to dominate the landscape as well. Mexico, for instance, have three games in the next week to prepare for South Africa 2010.

But that doesn't mean the entire soccer world has slowed down. A handful of leagues are still in action, providing Mexicans Abroad the chance to show their stuff.


Juan Seguro (Real Union Club de Irun) - Didn’t see any action in the 4-3 win over Numancia. Next: U.D. Salamanca 5/30

Juan ‘Kichi’ Perez (FC Tatabanya)- Perez played 70 minutes in the 4-0 loss to Budaörs. Next: FC Ajka 5/30  


Luis Angel Landin (Houston) - Set up both goals in the 2-0 win over DC United. Next: @ Philadelphia 5/29

Mariano Trujillo (Chivas USA) - Played 90 minutes in the 2-1 loss to Real Salt Lake. Trujillo wore the captain's armband for the duration of the match. Next: @ DC United 5/29

Martin Vasquez (Chivas USA) - The Chivas manager expressed frustration after the 2-1 loss to Real Salt Lake, as RSL scored late to win the game. Next: @ DC United, 5/29

Carlos De Los Cobos (Chicago Fire) - Chicago's next match is against FC Dallas on 5/27.


Carlos Moran (Cuenca) - The goalkeeper didn’t see any action in the 0-0 draw against Manta. Next: Emelec 5/26; @ Espoli 5/30


Rodolfo Espinoza (Club Universitario de Deportes) - Espinoza played all 90 minutes 3-0 win over Sport Boys. Next: @ Inti Gas Deportes 5/30.  


Rodrigo Prieto (Caracas FC) - Prieto parted ways with the Venezuelan club on May 21, 2010. His contract was up on May 31, 2010.  


Mario Garcia (Boyaca Chico FC) - The team did not see any action this week. Next: @ Real Santander 4/14 Copa Colombia.
