Pumas 1-0 Atlante: Bravo Strike Gives Pumas Three Points

Martin Bravo scored in the 69th minute to give Pumas a 1-0 win over Atlante on Sunday.

Pumas' offense again misfired on multiple occasions Sunday but it took just one brilliant moment to render that meaningless.

Martin Bravo scored on a long-range rocket midway through the second half and Pumas silenced Atlante 1-0 in Estadio Universitario.

Pumas, who saw their unbeaten streak snapped Wednesday by Queretaro, picked up their second victory. Their only other win came in their opening game of the season.

Atlante, meanwhile, had picked up win number one on Wednesday but could not make it two in a row. Los Potros had little to offer on the attacking side, but as Pumas had virtually no attack the two sides seemed headed for a scoreless draw.

But in the 69th minute, Bravo changed that. Jehu Chiapas took a Pumas throw-in from the left touchline and fed Bravo, who took control of the ball near the left corner of the box. Bravo turned and ripped a shot on goal. Atlante's Federico Vilar was frozen and barely moved as the ball sailed towards the far post and into the back of the net.

Down a goal, Atlante played with little urgency and the hosts were able to close out the match and take their three points.
